We just got back from the beach (Nag's Head, NC) last Sunday. Hannah had a great time! There was a tropical storm out over the ocean while we were there, so we didn't get to get into the ocean very much. We went over to the sound side instead and the water was great. The water wasn't deep and there were no waves, so Hannah could play as much as she wanted. We also visited 2 lighthouses (Corolla and Bodie Island), Nag's Head Fishing Pier, the NC Aquarium in Manteo and we climbed to the top of Jockey's Ridge (the big sand dune). Whew! We're in the middle of Vacation Bible School this week and we're all exhausted. Keep watching "Hannah's Picture Album" and we'll be posting some more beach pictures soon. More later!

Jake the Crab!

There's a giant crab behind Mama and Hannah! It's a huge inflatable crab that's an advertisement for a new seafood restaurant at Crabtree Valley Mall. Hannah insists we ride by and see it every time we go near the mall.

Fun at Pullen Park

This past Saturday (7/12), Hannah's friend Ava had her 3rd birthday party at Pullen Park in Raleigh. There was birthday cake, the carousel, and the train ride! It was hot, but fun was had by all. The 2 little girls with Hannah are Anderson and Olivia. They were in her class this past year. Unfortunately, they won't be in the same class this coming fall. Anderson and Olivia (and Ava) are already 3 years old so they'll be moving up to a different class. We're very sad about that, but Hannah will make a new set of friends and get to keep the old friends too!

A Nature Hike

Hannah went on a nature hike today with some friends. It was at Durant Nature Park in Raleigh. It's a fun place to go to see bugs, turtles, rocks, and more bugs. It's also a good place to get dirty and find tree branches! Fun!!

Bugs and sparklers

Nothing new today. Here are a couple of recent pictures. The first is from a "bug trek" at a local park (6/30/08). The other is from our sparkler celebration (7/5/08). Hannah wasn't too sure of the sparklers.

Introduction

Hannah has finally joined the blog community. We'll keep this updated on a regular basis so you can see what she's up to. She's enjoying her summer right now. We'll be going to the beach soon so that's what we're looking forward to. We went to the NC State Fairgrounds last night (July 4th) to see fireworks. They were supposed to start at 9:15pm but it started raining at 9:00pm. Therefore, they were rained out. Hannah was quite disappointed.
